Most real estate brokerages license their technology — a CRM from one vendor, a listing website from another, an e-signature subscription, a chat widget. That is a perfectly reasonable way to run a firm, and plenty of excellent ones do exactly that. We took the other path: the RentLuna platform is built and maintained in-house by the same brokerage that uses it every day.
That means the listing layer, which queries a licensed brokerage feed at the moment you search and de-duplicates it so each apartment appears once. It means a 0-100 match score shown to the renter with its reasoning, not hidden as an internal ranking signal. It means six messaging channels — web, text, phone, email, Telegram and iMessage — running on one system with one shared memory, so a conversation that starts by text continues by email without anyone repeating themselves. And it means the lease itself: documents generated, signed and sealed inside the platform, each one carrying a public verification page. Other licensed brokerages run the same platform on their own listing-feed credentials, which is the clearest proof it is a real product rather than an internal tool with a website attached.
The point of owning it is not the feature list. It is who can change it. When a client hits something broken, or a deal needs the software to do something it does not do yet, there is no vendor support queue between us and the fix — we can ship it that day. Your listing is still syndicated across the major portals for broad exposure; the difference is everything that happens after someone clicks.
